Vinieta Bhatia: The Fashion Designer Who Never Backs Down

The fashion industry is evolving every day as fashion designers compete with each other to invent trends that would attract the most followers. Not every trend gains the approval of the public and eventually they choose their favorite design and the designer shoots to the top of the charts overnight. Things don’t end there as now that they are on the top, they have to continue to please the major chunk of the fashion critics and the mass of followers so that they stay there. Vinieta Bhatia, a fashion designer herself, has played the game and emerged victoriously.

Her Early Life in Sports

Vinieta Bhatia did not have aspirations of becoming a fashion designer in her early years. If anything she would have preferred a career in sports. Athletic-minded and sharp from the time she was a child, her future looked bright in the games she used to play. If someone would have asked her then what she thought about fashion, she would have given an indifferent look and resumed playing? However, as time went by, Vinieta started following some fashion magazines. She had great creative skills, a by-product of her excellent athleticism and she would often sketch sportswear designs.

A Twist in the Tale

Her time in sports suddenly came to a stop when she broke her leg while playing. It would be a long time before she could take the field once again. However, the spirited Vinieta Bhatia would not lie helplessly and she decided to do something as she recovered. Having lots of time proved beneficial to her fashion doodles and soon she found herself sketching new designs for women’s traditional dresses. It was in this time of recovery when Vinieta realized her new-found love in fashion designing. 

A New Road 

By the time she finally recovered, her mind was set on a new adventure. Her passion for fashion designing was further fuelled when her parents encouraged her to take up a course for it at one of the top fashion colleges in India. Vinieta Bhatia has kept moving from strength to strength and never looked back since then. Her smart designs were a hit with her mentors who could not believe the immense talent that she had of designing ethnic dresses with a modern twist. She won several awards at her college fashion fests and began to rise in fame.

Emerging Victorious

After she graduated, Vinieta Bhatia decided to enter the business world. She did not go into it without preparation and trained as an assistant under a few famous fashion designers in India. That experience paid off for her when she released her own line at a national fashion week and made her first break. She earned widespread acclamation for her designs and Vinieta’s career as a fashion designer had only just begun.

Vinieta Bhatia, a fashion designer by her own choice, still likes to swing a racquet and kick a football in her spare time. She fondly remembers the time when she dreamt of becoming a sports star and thinks about how a broken bone turned her life around and she ended up as a fashion star. What kept her going then is what keeps her going now- her determination to never back down.
